The Fair Trade Jewellery Company has a mandate of social responsibility that we believe our clients share. Since all items are made to order, we accept returns for store credit only. Please make sure the ring size and/or band width is correct. We are happy to mail you a ring sizer at no additional cost. If we’ve made a mistake, we will take full responsibility and will credit you $20 CDN for return shipping so that we can make the product right for you.
What should I do if I want to return my item?
If your order is incorrect because of our mistake, we'll credit you $20 CDN for the cost of shipping the item back to us. We'll remake or resize the item as necessary and ship it back to you within 14-21 days of receipt. If you need to return something, please follow the protocols at the end of this document.
What if my ring is the wrong size/width?
If it's our mistake, we'll make it right -- at no charge to you. If, however, you provided an incorrect size, we will resize the ring up or down 1 size for $75 CDN. If it needs further work, we’ll let you know what your options are. The one exception to this is Mokume rings. Due to the complexity of their production, it takes a lot of work to resize them. For Mokume rings, the resizing charge is $200 CDN.
If you’d like to make a ring narrower or wider, the only option is to remake it. The cost of remaking a ring will vary depending on its style, but it is always more expensive than resizing. We will talk to you about your options before you return the item.
Return Protocols
1. Get a return authorization code: Call us at 1-866-953-8526 and leave a message with your name, order number and the reason for your return. One of us will call you back to discuss your return and, if necessary, issue a return merchandise authorization (RMA) code.
2. Pack your order and include all of the original packaging and contents (including diamond certification numbers if your item included them). For missing diamond certificates, there is a charge of $250 per certificate.
3. Return items via insured mail for the full value of the shipment and request signature upon delivery and a return receipt (where available) to confirm receipt. Please send your insured items to:
